2019: Development of a digital instrument of TDRD

On July 17, 2019 the Accenture company announced development of a digital instrument of TDRD (target-driven recipe development) intended for management of a compounding within workflows of production companies in the field of chemical and light industry, food, health care.

According to the developer, the solution is created based on SAP S/4HANA on purpose – to facilitate work of the managers responsible for observance of requirements to structure in the course of production of products. The solution also considers industry need to respond pointwise to the new requests of the markets, regulators and consumers.

As noted in Accenture, the solution transfers a product lifecycle management process (PLM, Product Lifecycle Management) to higher level for the realization account smart R&D-процесса on development of compoundings, calculation of their cost and structure of components depending on formulas, restrictions and controly in one user WEB INTERFACE in real time. The functionality of SAP S/4HANA allows to improve quality of the user experience, to optimize process of interaction of contractors within workflows at the expense of analytical tools and a convenient control panel with visualization of all key indicators. Besides, the solution allows to set certain product requirements, changing its compounding, then applying it on all set of development processes and release.

Thus the company receives integrated, based at to analytics data a system view on management of a product compounding, coordinating also integrating all variables of the market at which it is necessary to work: from introduction tax on sugar to the growing demand for vegetarian products and the corresponding ingredients, claim in Accenture.

According to the statement of the developer, the solution TDRD provides transparency of workflows, tracing all relevant formulas of recipes, calculations, key indicators and references on the uniform screen on demand. It allows to receive business insights, implementing the concept of permanent innovations of processes (Permanent innovation) in practice. Thus, production becomes customer-oriented, increases the level of compliance to requirements to industry and corporate standards.

Managers on management of a compounding can perform modeling of production process for the purpose of an experiment for understanding of results to which correction of any variables will bring in an initial compounding. It includes a possible exit out of limits of the recommended balance of nutrients and change of cost of production, observance of requirements of standards for a work progress of the enterprise.

This task is also executed by TDRD based on SAP S/4HANA.

According to Accenture, application of TDRD in practice of large production companies in the field of chemical and light industry, food, health care can provide the following practical results: Time-to-market indicator for start of new products grows to 35% and in the range of 10%-30% for upgraded versions of already used recipes. Direct production costs fall for 5–15%, operating and engineering costs decrease to 30% whereas the intermediate-term cycle of development of a compounding can be reduced to 35%.
