Adabas is a data management system. Natural is the high-performance environment for development and accomplishment of software applications.

Sharp expansion of a circle of the organizations and enterprises in the USSR using Adabas later – Natural, began still in the early eighties. Many of them to these use these products, solve all new and new tasks which are set for them by business with their help.

Adabas/Natural were initially created for processing of data bulks to ensure simultaneous operation of hundreds and thousands of users at the minimum requirements to resources for administration of a system.

Performance of Adabas DBMS allows to process large volumes of data and to provide accomplishment of advanced search queries for fractions of a second. This circumstance, for example, defined the choice of Adabas during creation of a federal information system of traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. This system gives to traffic police officers the real chance "punch" the machine and drivers using the cell phone even in the remote areas where there is no wire telephone and radio communication.

2016: The development strategy Adabas & Natural till 2050

In October, 2016 Software AG published parts of strategy for support and further development of a product line of Adabas & Natural till 2050. Merger of the partner company - CONNX Solutions located in Redmond, the State of Washington became one of making the strategy of Software AG. CONNX Solutions technologies will expand possibilities of backup and data integration.

According to Eric Dyuffo (Eric Duffaut), the director of work with customers of Software AG, the industry of the software is on the threshold of alternation of generations and the possible shortage of specialists whose skills are necessary for support and development of corporate applications in the future.

To be prepared for alternation of generations and a lack of resources whatever long these changes were Software AG opened access to product assortment of Adabas & Natural. Thanks to it the company will help customers with training of new employees and also with upgrade, management and operation of applications.

Recently started Adabas & Natural Managed Services program provides all necessary for protection of investments and prolongation of lifecycle of crucial applications using remote administration of a DB, service of applications, operational support and other services.

Release of products and opportunities of Adabas & Natural confirm the selected rate that it is in details reflected in the statement for the strategy of development for the direction during the period from 2015 to 2020.

• Mobile applications: adding of relevant components and opportunities of web-design for the accelerated development (using Natural) web and the AJAX-applications optimized for mobile devices.

• Big Data: copying of data of Adabas in RAM of Terracotta in real time for scaling of services and applications on the Internet. Integration with Apama Streaming Analytics for development of analytical solutions with report generation and decision support in real time.

• DevOps: enhanced capabilities for improvement of tasks of DevOps in NaturalONE based on Eclipse (for example, support of GIT, profiling, testing).

Within the selected development strategy, Software AG announced CONNX Solutions acquisition — the company providing to customers of Adabas & Natural of technology in the field of integration and copying of data. CONNX Solutions (Redmond, the USA) is a partner — Software AG equipment supplier and gained recognition of users of Adabas & Natural. The acquisition purpose – to get full access to technology within the program planned till 2050. Customers of Software AG will also get access to all range of CONNX Solution technologies. The bargain about acquisition is concluded on July 31.
