2021: Completion
On February 26, 2020, Advantum announced that, with the support of the Innovation Assistance Fund, it had completed work on the Digital Forwarder system with a decision support module based on deep learning technologies. Work on the project started in December 2019, and by December 2020 a working version of the system was launched and several agreements were signed for the use of the system with large transport companies, such as MTEK-LOGISTICS and Crafter.
The system is designed to optimize the processes of planning and application of intelligent dispatching during cargo transportation. The solution acts as a digital vehicle management tool and increases process transparency in logistics. "Digital forwarder" is intended for commercial and state organizations, aimed at both customers and transportation operators, including fleet owners.
Before the start of the project, Advantum already had the necessary expertise in the IT services market in the logistics industry due to long-term interaction with large retail companies - transport customers and their contractors - transport companies as part of IT projects to monitor the timeliness and quality of thermal cargo delivery for retail networks. Advantum counterparties got acquainted with the concept of the future Digital Forwarding system and confirmed the relevance of the future solution.
The Digital Forwarder implements a large functionality, and the work of users is organized through a web interface and a mobile application. The solution structure consists of several modules that optimize various areas of transport work. They are combined into several main blocks: planning, dispatching and the decision support module. For the correct operation of the system, the collection, consolidation and storage of telematic information about the movement of vehicles (including geographical coordinates, readings of temperature sensors and opening of body doors) are organized.
To create optimal flights, an algorithm for optimal planning of vehicles for executing transportation requests is implemented taking into account many parameters, for example, the location of transport at the time of exit from the previous flight, average speed of traffic on the road graph, statistics on traffic jams, load capacity, volume and palletization of the body. Intelligent dispatching allows the logician to work only with incidents and frees him from routine work. The decision support module in Digital Forwarding helps to reduce the risks of non-delivery of cargo by sending warnings and analyzing the timeliness of scheduled flights.
In addition, REST API has been developed for integration with external information systems, which can transmit reference information and requests for cargo transportation to the Digital Forwarding Agent and receive back information about scheduled flights and flights by vehicles.
