2024: Creating a new version of the drone that is resistant to electronic warfare
At the end of March 2024, Albatross announced the creation of a modernized long-range reconnaissance drone Albatros M5. According to the developers, drones are resistant to electronic warfare (electronic warfare), which are used by the enemy in the zone of special military operation (SVO) of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
We constantly modernize ours UAV and try to timely update all complexes used in SVO. The most important update I consider the improvements associated with the radio channel of one very famous and respected in the field of UAVs of a domestic manufacturer, - quotes TASS the words of the representative of Albatros. |
According to him, another innovation at Albatross M5 is associated with an increased flight range - now it is 60-80 km instead of the previous 50 km. The company is also working to improve the reliability of all elements of the complex, especially ground equipment. The flying wing complex is designed to identify and destroy strongholds, armored vehicles and other enemy objects. Its wing span is 3.3 meters, in the air it is up to 4.5 hours. It can fly 300 kilometers at an altitude of 5 km.
As noted in Albatros LLC, Albatros M5 drones were actively used to support aviation and artillery while repelling attempts by Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) to penetrate the territory of the Belgorod region.
The representative of Albatros LLC also noted that the number of devices used is increasing in the SVO zone. Although the exact number of Albatros M5 delivered and used in the WBO zone has not been disclosed, it is known that 50 complexes were reported in June 2023. According to the interlocutor of TASS, by the end of March 2024, their number had grown.[1]
