Alcatel-Lucent Rapport

Rapport is a software platform on the basis of the open code.

On April 15, 2015 the Alcatel-Lucent company submitted the platform of communications for large business and suppliers of communication services.

The platform is focused on large enterprises and service providers, offering new, flexible opportunities of providing services of communication and joint work.

The communication framework is offered in versions:

• for large enterprises,
• for small service providers.

The version of Rapport for the enterprises is created for work in the private cloud configurations using the advanced convergent infrastructure platform of HP company optimized for scalable tasks.

In the operator Rapport environment works with any virtualization platform of network services (NFV) and it can be delivered complete with the NFV Alcatel-Lucent CloudBand platform. Rapport helps application developers to accelerate providing new services by means of access to communication functions using the opened, published API and software packages for development (SDK). Rapport supports the growing ecosystem of suppliers of technologies, including CounterPath company, the developer of software clients and SDK for various devices.

Rapport uses possibilities of a cloud using a single software platform which can be developed on any commercial serial equipment that reduces cost and simplifies deployment of communication services and management of them.

The Rapport platform is based on completely rebuilt version of a program subsystem of a multimedia communication of Alcatel-Lucent IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Taking into account specific requirements of large enterprises and service providers different configurations are developed.

Solution Rapport for service providers

Implementation of Rapport gives to service providers more opportunities for business development, allowing to support VoLTE and Wi-fi services, mobile and fixed connection on one cloud adaptable communication framework that considerably simplifies and reduces the price of delivery of these services counting on one subscriber. For acceleration of start of VoLTE services and other new services for consumers and business and also for dynamic scaling according to requests of subscribers in the solution Rapport virtualization of network functions is used and joint work with such NFV platforms as Alcatel-Lucent CloudBand is provided.

Rapport provides communication services which follow not devices, and for subscribers and consider their presence, location and availability. Service providers will be able to build in communication functionality objects, applications and websites, opening new retail markets of wearable devices, the connected houses and telematic services. Also they will be able to enter the wholesale markets, providing services of the Rapport network to suppliers of applications and the web companies.
