2023: Pacemakers coming to market

On May 18, 2023, the company MicroPort CRM , headquartered in France , announced the launch of Alizea and Celea pacemakers with a record length of work.

The devices are enclosed in a body with a volume of only 11 cubic centimeters. At the same time, their power supply is designed for 13 years of continuous operation. It is argued that no other commercially available pacemaker with comparable dimensions has such a high value. A longer service life will save many patients from the need to replace the battery, and therefore from repeated surgery, associated with the risk of infection entering the body.

Alizea and Celea products are equipped with AutoMRI mode, an innovative algorithm developed by MicroPort CRM specialists. This technology improves the safety and quality of life of patients during MRI examination. The AutoMRI function is activated by a cardiologist within ten days of the planned examination. After turning on the mode, when entering the MRI field, the pacemaker automatically goes to a safe state, and after completing the procedure, it returns to the original settings. This greatly simplifies the process for both the patients themselves and the medical staff.

For Alizea and Celea pacemakers, a SmartView Connect home bedside reading monitor with Bluetooth wireless support is available. Its interface is specially adapted for the elderly. The monitor automatically transmits detailed reports on the functioning of the system to the cardiologist on a regular basis, and also issues notifications about detected anomalies, such as atrial fibrillation. Medical staff are offered a SmartTouch XT device in the form of a tablet for programming pacemakers.^[1]
