Allied Telesis AT-8000GS

AT-8000S — one of series of switches from Allied Telesis providing high-performance switching at the 2nd level. This series is executed in the form of the platform with the fixed configuration, with a possibility of consolidation in a stack and the affordable price.

Switches of this series have, depending on model, 8, 16, 24 or 48 ports 10/100, two (one for 8 and 16 port models) 1 Gbps fixed the slot for the modules SFP and also two built-in connectors for cascade (stack) connection. The integrated interfaces for consolidation in a stack have topology of a failsafe ring that allows to increase at the same time reliability and to simplify management in working conditions with a high density of ports. Application. Thanks to fine capacity and a possibility of consolidation in a stack this switch is ideal for creation of network of level of branches or an access network at larger offices.

The modern control functions by service quality (QoS) implemented by this product, on the one hand, provide reliable providing the advanced network services, such as voice communication, and on the other hand — allow to control effectively steadily increasing needs for traffic volumes characteristic of modern networks.

System administrators can get access to the broad range of opportunities of AT-8000S/48 both through the standard command line interface (CLI), and via the intuitive, full-function Web interface developed by Allied Telesis. Access to the managing interface of switches of series 8000S is provided only to the authorized administrators. Such protocols as SSL, SSH and SNMP v3, provide protection of your network both at the level of local, and at the level of remote connections.

Of course, by means of the SNMP protocol the control of switches via the different NMS systems is implemented. All switches of family 8000S support the connected modules with a small form factor (SFP modules) of Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet. Thanks to it switches of series 8000S are ideal for the companies which are going to set at themselves optical multiplexers of Gigabit Ethernet over time. Besides, switches of family support a connectivity of the legacy devices working according to standard 100FX — before they are replaced with Gigabit Ethernet devices. Support of SFP modules with two different speeds allows the organizations to remain within the budget in the course of transition to more high-speed technologies.

AT-8000GS is an analog of the AT-8000S series, consisting of 24, 24PoE and 48 port models. Distinctive feature of this line is support of standard 10/100/1000 BaseT on all ports, more productive factory of switching and existence of 4 ports for the SFP installation of modules.
