2021: Getting Started at Amazon

At the end of May 2021, Amazon began using "meditation booths" for workers in warehouses and logistics centers. The AmaZen meditation booth is a small room where employees can seclude themselves and watch soothing videos, meditate and relieve stress.

Meditation booths were launched as part of the WorkingWell program, which Amazon announced on May 17. According to an Amazon press release, the WorkingWell is aimed at conducting "physical and mental activities, wellness exercises and supporting a healthy diet," and should help workers "get energy and regain strength."

Judging by the video posted on Amazon's Twitter account, the Zen Booths have plants, a fan, and brochures on mental health. The skylight on top is painted blue, and the walls are decorated with various posters.

The idea of meditative cabins belongs to the employee of the company Leila Brown. "With AmaZen, I wanted to create a quiet space where people could focus on their mental and emotional well-being," she said. - ZenBooth is an interactive room where you can study the mental health library and mindfulness practices to recharge the internal battery. "

The WorkingWell initiative was launched after a series of scandals about terrifying working conditions. Employees of the company complained about processing, injury to jobs and understaffed shifts, because of which they could not take 10-minute breaks for rest. However, in fact, little has changed, and Amazon employees still have to work out shifts lasting 10 and a half hours, only under a different name - the "megacycle" has turned into a "single cycle."[1]
