In January, 2018 submitted to Amazon the dokumentooriyentirovanny DocumentDB database management system which is designed to compete with MongoDB.

The matter is that Amazon DocumentDB is completely compatible to applications and the MongoDB tools and offers low quotations for users.

Amazon reported that with DocumentDB exit developers will receive a high-performance, scalable and available solution for work in the conditions of ultimate loads. A system works with MongoDB of version 3.6 which was released in November, 2017.

After the presentation of this service of quotation of MongoDB company failed for 13% whereas in 2018 actions rose in price approximately for 200%. The company went public in 2017, and by the beginning of the 2019th its market capitalization is estimated more than at $4 billion.

According to analysts to whom the edition Business Insider, Amazon DocumentDB refers it is necessary to consider a serious product, considering the scale and a scope of Amazon, however prematurely to say that the solution will squeeze out MongoDB from the market in the long term.

MongoDB has two key advantages: it is more than opportunities and loyalty of developers. When Microsoft offered the competing database under the name CosmosDB, it influenced MongoDB business a little.

The technical director and the cofounder of MongoDB Eliot Horowitz in a conversation with Business Insider said that he is not disturbed by DocumentDB exit. According to him, this product shows rather, "how desperate was Amazon", having decided to create what was made by MongoDB.

On the website MongoDB data of rating  of DB-Engines characterizing popularity more than 200 different DBMS are provided. Observers call MongoDB the most popular NoSQL-system. The rating is formed on the basis of such criteria as references on social networks, quantity of DBMS of jobs created around, existence of professional certificates and the number of search queries in Google.[1]
