The system of predictive analytics "InfraPrognoz" is developed by specialists of the Russian Railway and VNIIEF.
Functionality
The InfraPrognoz system allows to optimize process of management of rail transportation on the basis of forecast technologies. She analyzes all array of information on a train situation, plans of loading, carrying out repair work, about a status of infrastructure and builds models of the most effective solutions as for the manager who is directly managing transportations and for other subjects of transportation process.
A system considers such indicators as, for example, the relevant capacity of different sections of a railway system processing capability of stations, providing with locomotive crews, the optimal train schedule, etc.
In the Russian Railway expect that creation of authentic long-term forecasts of a train situation on the railroads using "InfraPrognoz" will allow to bring to new qualitative level provision of services to consignors, to increase reliability of sendings and to reduce violations of delivery dates of loads and also to reduce operating costs and it is rational to use the available resources.
"Using this system, considering technological and technical limits in real time, we calculate the optimal resource parameters providing process of transportations. In scales of such company as the Russian Railway it is very important as economy even on small percent of transactions, and them in day happens up to 5-6 million, means significant digit in terms of costs", - the vice president for information technologies and development of a management system of the Russian Railway Alexey Illarionov explained TAdviser.

Trial operation
A system has common network scale. Its pilot implementation began with the Gorky railroad. At the end of April, 2015 the Russian Railway reported that trial operation of a system begins on the integrated polygon of Gorky,Northern and October railroads.
According to representatives of the Northern railroad, at the first stage of implementation "InfraPrognoz" on their section it is necessary to create uniform technology process of a polygon.
"It is possible to take in details developed uniform technical process of our trunk which is created taking into account all regulating documents of the Russian Railway and on the basis of the standard information systems acting on network as a basis", - the acting chief of the Northern railroad Sergey Almeev believes.
On the Northern railroad the problem of optimization of transportation process and decrease in unproductive losses is solved hi-tech command centers – traction resources, the maintenance of infrastructure and road command center transportations. According to Sergey Almeev, the information and technology base of these centers can become a basis and for the new system of forecasting.
The forecast model should add actual which is under construction the operating software packages, and will create opportunities for formation of a single intelligent system of management.
