2022: Sinking man rescued with drone in Anapa

On August 17, 2022, it became known about the rescue of a person at sea in Anapa using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The incident was told in the press service of the mayor's office of the resort.

On August 15, 2022, a man began to drown on the central beach of Anapa. The drone noticed the signals for help, he dropped the life jacket and immediately gave the signal to the duty officer.

The tourist began to sink far beyond the permitted bathing area. This fact was discovered by the monitoring system. The drone dropped the man's life aid and remained in the air, serving as a guide for the rescue service that arrived in time on the boat, the press service of the Anapa mayor's office said.

The victim was provided with the necessary assistance; by August 17, 2022, nothing threatens his life and health. It was noted that the man began to have limb cramps during swimming.

I decided to swim after work, then I lay down on the beach, went into the water. I have been engaged for so long, swam away, swim better, more. I did not study for a long time and, apparently, because of this, the leg was brought down. I realized that I would not swim myself, and therefore I began to hang out, flop, - recalls Alexander Dodura, who almost drowned (quoted by Ren TV).

The Anaspas complex with modern towers and drones operates in Anapa. These are the first smart rescue posts in Russia that our central beach is equipped with. The posts are "armed" with a modern monitoring and video surveillance system, and their main "chip" is rescue drones that can fly to the drowning person in a few seconds and drop the life jacket. In 2021, it was also possible to save a drowning person with the help of a drone.

But rescuers remind that even despite the most advanced security systems operating on the beaches of Anapa, vacationers need to follow basic rules of conduct on the water. Even experienced swimmers should remain cautious and calculate their strength wisely.[1]
