2023: Product Announcement
At the end of May 2023, a Russian robot sapper was presented, which can be controlled at a distance of up to 1 km. We are talking about the joint development of JSC "KEMZ" and JSC VNII "Signal."
According to the press service of Rostec (this state corporation includes the High-Precision Complexes holding, which, in turn, owns JSC KEMZ and JSC VNII Signal), a new robotic demining machine was created on the basis of a mini-loader Ant-1000. The equipment is designed to detect and eliminate anti-personnel mines.
A chain hammer trawl is used as a working member in the machine. The presence of solid wheels and swivel tracks significantly increases the cross-country ability and stability of this machine. The vehicle can be controlled by both the driver in the cab and the operator remotely.
As noted by Bekhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the Rostec arms, ammunition and special chemistry cluster, the created robot sapper is quite simple, unpretentious and has a low price.
This technique can be especially useful in new regions of the Russian Federation, where it is necessary to return a full-fledged peaceful life. The ability to remotely control equipment will make the work of sappers safer, he said. |
Ozdoev added that the High-Precision Complexes holding is ready to release the first batch of mine clearance vehicles during 2023. He did not announce the cost of the novelty.
By May 2023, the sapper units of the engineering troops have at their disposal several robotic complexes of different classes with certain functions, and they are actively used in solving real problems. So, over the past few years, the RTK "Uranus-6" with replaceable minesweeping equipment has been actively used, and in 2022 it was joined by the heavier "Passage-1."[1]
