2024: Product Announcement

In mid-August 2024, the Astron Aero design bureau presented the Russian Kombat-Antidron complex for the detection and destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system can be used, in particular, to combat small-sized attack drones, as well as FPV-drones (First Person View), which are controlled by the operator, receiving an image from a built-in camera.

According to TASS, Kombat-Antidron functions on the principle of echeloned defense. At the first stage, the radar station detects air targets at a distance of up to 5 km, after which electronic warfare (electronic warfare) is activated. If the object continues to fly, a subsystem based on a phased acoustic array is turned on, which, by sound, determines the type of drone at a distance of up to 2 km. Then the optical-electronic station comes into action, which captures the target and accompanies it. At a distance of 800 to 1000 m in automatic mode, a command is given to a drone interceptor of one type or another (depending on the type of threat).

Presented the Russian "combat antidron" to intercept UAVs by sound

To defeat enemy UAVs, ram drones or reusable interceptors can be used to neutralize an object with a shot or network. In particular, aircraft-type devices have been created for the complex, which are capable of hitting less high-speed targets. In addition, a high-speed interceptor can be used to destroy FPV drones moving at speeds up to 300 km/h.

These two types of interceptor drones will be based on fully automatic take-off, automatic escort and automatic defeat in the final section, representatives of Astron Aero said.

The complex is designed to protect industrial facilities and critical infrastructure. In addition, it is planned to use the Combat-Antidron system in the special operation zone.[1]
