2022: Electric Scooter Announcement
In mid-July 2022, Montreal-based Apollo Scooters unveiled the Apollo Pro electric scooter, which developers say is the world's first hypersamocat. The device uses a pair of 1.2 thousand watt engines, which provides it with 2.4 kW of all-wheel drive power and a maximum speed of 70 km/h. The Apollo Pro is said to combine cutting-edge vehicle, smartphone and IoT technology to offer the most comfortable and safe ride possible. This includes IoT (Internet of Things), smart BMS (Battery Management System), a phone as a display, as well as many other features that make it one of a kind.
The Apollo Pro has more than 150 components designed by Apollo Scooters to order, including a frame made from a single piece of aluminium and capable of withstanding 150kg. The frame includes a double suspension with front and rear pendulums to smooth out the irregularities of city streets. Crucial parts such as the company's proprietary M1 controller, the company claims, help create a unique and customized user experience that extends from scooter build quality to ride style. The scooter includes parts such as scooter-huge 12-inch wheels with self-healing tyres that lack internal tubing and use tubeless rims and car-type tyres.
Physical braking is carried out using two drum brakes, which are completely airtight and maintenance-free , and also provide the same braking performance on both wet and dry roads. The expected range is up to 100 km from a massive 30 mA·ch battery. This means that the user can either use the scooter at moderate speeds for several days without recharging, or be sure that they can drive at high speeds all day on a single charge.
Built-in LED lighting includes front and rear headlights, turn signals and backlight around the entire perimeter of the deck. If the user wants to be not only heard, but seen, the scooter is equipped with speakers that can be used as a boombox. Instead of trying to shove more and more into the scooter's small display, Apollo Pro uses the driver's smartphone through an app from Apollo Scooters to provide the most detailed display possible. The custom phone screen is guaranteed to be better than anything the company can install on a scooter, so the Apollo Pro has a built-in phone holder on the crossbar. It even provides wireless charging to keep the phone's battery from running low while the user uses it to navigate the app, remotely lock and other app-related features.
The app is also used for off-scooter notifications with IoT technology enabled. For example, users can activate a scooter alarm after parking. If someone tries to steal a scooter, a notification will be sent to the user's phone. The scooter alarm will also sound when the scooter is blocked so that it cannot be removed or resold as a healthy scooter. Alarms and automatic locking can help reduce the risk of theft, but it cannot be completely ruled out. That's why the company is meeting halfway and offering Apollo Care as an extended warranty that includes theft coverage in addition to repairs.
It is expected that the price will be $3.6 thousand. Although buyers can get discounts by making a fully refundable deposit of $20 to reserve their order before deliveries begin in Q1 2023.[1]
