On the federal territory "Sirius" created the first Russian machine for preparing ice for curling. This was announced at the end of May 2023.
The machine has two wheels and two batteries, an engine, an electric unit and a blade - the main tool of an ice preparation specialist. In the future, it is planned to introduce technologies for measuring distances using a laser, add a temperature sensor, install an additional flashlight and an informative unit that will show the battery charge level and mileage of the device
The developer of the first sample was the Arena Service company, which operates in Sirius on the basis of the figure skating training arena. The new equipment, which has already been tested, is cheaper and more convenient than foreign analogues, the manufacturer says.
It is noted that when creating the machine, experts focused on Canadian equipment and modern technologies in the world. Many regions of the Russian Federation participated in the development of the Russian analogue of the machine. Details were ordered throughout Russia, the assembly took place in Krasnodar, refinement and testing took place on the federal territory of Sirius, which became an experimental platform for testing samples and creating additional options. Further production of the equipment will take place according to the same scheme.
The cost of the Russian car is about 1 million rubles, said Efim Zhidelev, technical director of the Russian Curling Federation.
Our specialists have already worked on the car and declare that it has shown itself well, meets the necessary requirements and tasks, "he said. |
According to him, a number of regions have already become interested in domestic equipment. It is planned that after all commissioning, the equipment will be introduced into the clubs, and in the 2023/2024 season several units will be able to prepare high-quality ice at Russian sites.[1]
