2022: Composite armor helmet announcement

In November 2022, Oleg Faustov, Deputy General Director of Reinforced Composites (Armokom), said that his company had created an ultra-light armored helmet made of composite materials for the Russian military.

According to Faustov, the weight of the new helmet is 300 g less than the 6B47 helmets produced by November 2022 (as part of the work "Warrior"), which weigh 1 kg. He also stressed that 6B47 is already the lightest among the army armored helmets of the leading military powers.

The Center for High-Strength Materials "Reinforced Composites" was founded in 1992 at the Central Research Institute of Special Engineering (TsNIItochmash). The main direction is the creation of personal protective equipment. The company develops armored plates, body armor, protective kits such as the Cowboy suit for tankers, armored plates, etc.^[1]
