2021: Announcement of the Arrival Van
On March 3, 2021, Arrival officially introduced the first electric van in its lineup. The product is called Arrival Van.
According to the developers, the basis of the electric car was a scalable platform, on the basis of which you can create cars of various sizes and with different types of body. Arrival Van will be sold in the regular version (vehicle length - 5.1 meters) and elongated (6.5 meters). He will be able to carry goods weighing up to 1975 kg.
The novelty will be equipped with climate control, an infotainment system with a 15.6-inch touch screen, round-robin technology, as well as a number of other modern electronic assistants for the driver, including blind spot control systems, lane retention during traffic and recognition of road signs.
The manufacturer does not disclose detailed technical characteristics by the beginning of March 2021. It is only known that the van will receive storage units of various volumes in the range from 44 to 133 kWh depending on the power reserve required by the customer.
As noted in the press release, the Arrival Van model was developed in close cooperation with drivers and freight operators in order to maximize functionality for use in the real world. The car can also offer advanced connectivity and convenience for drivers, and for operators - advanced tools for managing data and optimizing the fleet.
The start of testing this car on public roads is scheduled for the summer of 2021. It is planned to launch mass production of the machine in the third quarter of 2022. By early March 2021, the company is collecting 25 copies of Van in order to provide them to customers for testing.[1]
