2018: Installation of 100 Siemens Artis systems in China

On January 12, 2018, in Shenzhen, the Siemens Healthingers Research Center celebrated the installation of the 100th anniversary Artis one angiographic system in China.

More than 300 Artis one kits designed and manufactured in Shenzhen have hit the market in 49 other countries. The first order for Artis one in China came from Pudong People's Hospital Shanghai on March 31, 2015. The first Artis one angiographic system was installed in Henan on June 14, 2015, and the hundredth system in Shanxi on December 22, 2017.

Pu Zhengrong, vice president of Advanced Therapies Siemens Healthineers in China, said that throughout the research and development phase of Artis one, the creators consulted with various experts.

We used to use a large or small detector, but for Artis one we chose an average size. Since X-ray rooms in most Chinese hospitals do not meet the requirements for the installation of large equipment, and some hospitals do not even have X-ray rooms, we have developed an Artis one that meets the local needs, "said Pu Shengrong, adding that it takes only 25 square meters to install a new angiographic system. meters.

Siemens Healthineers Advanced Therapies, which began operations in April 2014, is the only base in the world for the production of the Artis one system, as well as the only research and production base in the field of advanced therapy Siemens Healthineers outside Germany.

Siemens Healthineers Advanced Therapies general manager Ye Wei said supporting industries in Shenzhen are better developed than many other cities in the Zhujiang or Yangtze River deltas.

A lot of talented people work here. So we chose Shenzhen for our headquarters, "Ye Wei explained.

2016: Announcement

In December 2016, as part of the 102 annual congress of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Siemens Healthineers announced the Artis pheno robotic angiographic research system. It is intended for use in minimally invasive surgery, interventional radiology, and interventional cardiology.

Artis pheno replaced the Artis zeego model, released in 2008. The novelty, according to the manufacturer, conducts studies of the entire body faster by 15%, and studies of the head - by 68%. In addition, the equipment requires fewer contrast agents, making it safer for elderly patients with impaired kidney function.

Artis pheno is also suitable for people who are obese, thanks to the C-arc increased by 13 cm in width with an internal diameter of 95.5 cm. The table tilted in different directions can withstand a mass of 280 kg.

We have a more flexible solution, especially for complex patients, "says Peter Seitz, head of surgery at Siemens Healthineers. - Hospital systems around the world are increasingly being used by obese, frail and elderly patients.

Seitz also noted that one of the main trends in surgery is the transition from open procedures to minimally invasive. For example, operations for aortic aneurysms have traditionally been performed on the open heart, but now about 75% of such operations are minimally invasive.

Another difference between Artis pheno and the previous system is that there is no need to install equipment on the ceiling of the operating room, which is very important for creating a sterile environment. All components of the new device are within the same robotic mechanism.

By the time of the announcement, Artis pheno has not yet been approved for sale in the United States.[1]
