Asus a RT series - high-speed routers of Wi-fi standard 802.11ac.
2018: Asus RT-AX88U
On June 20, 2018 the ASUS company provided the dual-band RT-AX88U router differing in the high performance and ample opportunities of settings. Both frequency ranges support the devices compatible to standard 802.11ax. In the range of 2.4 GHz capacity makes up to 1148 Mbps, in the range of 5 GHz – up to 4804 Mbps, thus, peak total capacity of the router reaches about 6000 Mbps, noted in ASUS.
The wireless signal is broadcast using four antennas. The signal of IPS from provider is delivered through gigabit port WAN. For wire connection of devices eight gigabit LAN ports are provided thanks to what the RT-AX88U router provides wire connection of several computers at once. It is convenient, according to the developer, for small office with several jobs or for the house where wires for connection are already divorced on rooms.
The RT-AX88U model is controlled the powerful quad-core processor. Two ports USB 3.1 Gen1 allow to connect to it such peripheral devices as the external drive or the printer, and even to connect the 4G-modem for secure on a case of sudden interruption of a signal from provider, specified in ASUS.
The RT-AX88U router will go on sale in the III quarter 2018.[1]
2016: Asus RT-AC88U
On February 4, 2016 the Asustek Computer company provided the RT-AC88U device with four external antennas, high gain amount, each of which is used for simultaneous data transmission in a separate flow[2].
By means of use of Broadcom NitroQAM technology the router can work at speed up to 2167 Mbps in the range of 5 GHz and at the same time at a speed up to 1000 Mbps in the range of 2.4 GHz that in total gives network transmission capacity to 3167 Mbps.
The ASUS RT-AC88U router supports technology of ASUS AiRadar, it will transform a poor omnidirectional signal to strong unidirectional, and provides these higher data transfer rate, an expanded coverage of Wi-fi and consistent reception of a signal.
The technology of aggregation of channels (Link Aggregation) implemented in the RT-AC88U router gives the chance to integrate two gigabit LAN ports in one logical link that increases capacity of the channel to 2 Gbps and increases its reliability.
The ASUS RT-AC88U router is focused on use in difficult home networks with a large number of the devices using different standards.
