2025: Enhanced File Access to Disk Resources by NFS, SMB, and FTP

The Russian company ATLAS on June 10, 2025 announced the update of entry-level storage systems ATLAS.SE. The key improvement was the implementation of expanded file access to disk resources using NFS, SMB and FTP protocols.

This functionality will enable ATLAS customers to share files, accelerate data migration, and improve overall manageability of their information resources. File access is a standard option for most storage systems. However, the hybrid approach used by the ATLAS command simplifies the administrator's work and minimizes the cost of reserving free disk space.

The ATLAS.SE series storage upgrade now supports SMB 3.0 for improved performance and reliability. ATLAS DSS are also compatible with NFS protocols versions 3 and 4, allowing ATLAS systems to be integrated into existing enterprise networks.

In addition, support for the FTP protocol is implemented, which simplifies interaction with external systems and data transportation, as well as local authentication of users and groups. For file resources, ATLAS.SE has added the function of instant copies using Redirect on Write (ROW).

In addition to traditional manual management, ATLAS.SE DSS now have automatic file access extension mode. The function of automatic management of the size of the disk resource contributes to the optimization and rational use of free space. ATLAS.SE is a fault-tolerant entry-level dual-controller DSS of system focused on small and medium businesses. The monitoring and management system allows you to effectively monitor its operation and quickly respond to problems.
