2020: Support for up to 200 speakers and up to 20 zones
On December 23, 2020, Axis Communications introduced AXIS Audio Manager Edge, a massive update to the integrated audio management software for Axis network speakers. The upgrade allows you to create, configure, and use a smart, turnkey network sound system without additional hardware. The updated software supports the use of up to 200 speakers and up to 20 zones and is well suited for small and medium-sized objects. Axis network speakers are a comprehensive audio system aimed both at preventing offenses and unwanted activities, and at playing various voice messages and background music.
The built-in software AXIS Audio Manager Edge facilitates work with content and allows to reproduce announcements, advertizing and background music in real time or in record. In addition, content playback can be prioritized so that real-time voice messages are always played first - thus important information, such as emergency announcements, will always be played in a timely manner. The software also has a convenient schedule for scheduling content on the days of the week.
Separate permissions for administrators, content managers, and other users allow you to assign each user only the access settings they need to minimize the risk of system errors and failures. With built-in monitoring and the system status bar, users can quickly learn about any problems in the system that require a solution.
A free update is available for all previously installed Axis network speakers. You can control the sound reproduction system through any standard web browser both locally and remotely.
In the first quarter of 2021, Axis plans to release the AXIS Audio Manager Center cloud object management service with support for audio systems consisting of several thousand objects.
