2025: Completion
The Southern Center for Shipbuilding and Ship Repair of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), located in the Astrakhan Region, has completed the construction of a large chemical tanker Azimut-1 of the 00216M project. The vessel's acceptance certificate was signed with Eurasia-Shipping Caspian LLC at the end of April 2025.
The chemical tanker was designed by the designers of the Nevsky Design Bureau, which is part of the USC structure. The vessel is designed to carry crude oil and petroleum products with a density of 0.7-1.015 t/m³ without limitation on the flash point of vapors, as well as molasses and harmful liquid substances, including those that require heating to 60 ° C.
The new vessel is equipped with six cargo tanks and two slop tanks with a total capacity of 8,900 m³, of which about 8,700 m³ are cargo tanks. The design of the tanker allows the transportation of petroleum products in both cargo and settling tanks, while vegetable oils can be transported exclusively in cargo tanks. An important feature of the vessel is the ability to simultaneously transport three different types of cargo in one voyage.
Compared to similar chemical tankers of the RST27 type, the 00216M vessels have a higher capacity, the ability to maintain an increased temperature of cargo heating and provide accelerated unloading.
The design of the chemical tanker provides for a double bottom and double sides, a tank and a tank, a tronk, a stern location of the engine-boiler room and a superstructure. The wheelhouse is located from side to side, and two rotary propeller columns are used for maneuvering.
The main technical characteristics of the Azimut-1 tanker:
- Maximum length: 141 m.
- Width: 16.7 m.
- Side height: 6 m.
- Deadweight (in the sea/in the river): 7900 tons with a draft of 4.6 m/5300 tons with a draft of 3.6 m.
- Autonomy: 15 days.
- Main engine power: 2x1200 kW.
- Propulsor type: propulsor columns.
- Speed: 10 knots.
- Crew: 12 people.[1]
