In January, 2015 Microsoft announced the free tool for transfer of the Azure resources from one data center in another. The new product received the name Azure Data Center Migration Solution (ADCMS).[1]
It allows to move workloads and a configuration of infrastructure between several DPCs of Azure. Clients, for example, will be able to throw virtual machines on the nearest data center providing more quick access to services or to use one configuration between several platforms. Besides, ADCMS will help to move between subscriptions within one data center, passing from a test account to complete.

The product with the open code created in cooperation with Persistent Systems company is offered according to the license Apache 2.0. For its start the Service Pack 1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Windows 7 operating systems or more after their version and also. net Framework platform 4.5 and PowerShell 3.0 are required.
According to Guy Bouerman (Guy Bowerman), the senior manager of Microsoft Azure Compute Runtime, writing of the scripts allowing to automate regular migration of resources between data centers is an uncommon task and sometimes turns into the main project for programmers in the companies. If in the course of data transfer there are errors, big investments can be required.
The flexibility and scalability which are reached by use of the integrated templates of projects and the Open Source model belong to the main advantages of ADCMS, Bouerman noted.
