2024: Product Announcement

At the end of August 2024, the American company SurGenTec announced the registration of a new proprietary device for aspiration of bone marrow B-MAN, which does not disrupt the structure of cells.

Traditional bone marrow aspiration techniques often involve several steps using centrifuges. This may adversely affect the viability of the cells to be used for analysis and treatment. The B-MAN device optimizes the process of bone marrow puncture, increasing the effectiveness of the procedure.

A bone marrow puncture device that does not disrupt cell structure

The manufacturer says B-MAN provides an innovative approach to bone marrow aspiration. For this, a method is used without centrifugation, which makes it possible to obtain a high-quality aspirate with a minimum amount of detritus. With an integrated diamond-tipped trocar, puncture reduces damage to local tissues, and CELLect filtration technology can effectively clean the aspirate, reducing the amount of spicules and other impurities. Thus, the new device makes it possible to obtain a pure aspirate with increased cell viability.

The new technique also maximizes bone marrow contact with trocar surface area, which becomes three times larger than conventional techniques. This helps improve the extraction of progenitor cells while reducing contamination of aspirate by peripheral blood and bone spicules.

We are excited to add this unique device to our product range, "said Travis Greenhalgh, CEO of SurGenTec. - From the very beginning, we wanted to create a minimally invasive solution that simplifies the aspiration process and improves the quality of the resulting cells, and achieved this goal. The B-MAN device allows the preservation of the native structure of cells and facilitates the extraction of healthier cells by reducing the duration and number of manipulations.[1]
