2019: Exit of new generation of needles

At the end of January, 2019 Becton Dickinson announced sales of the second generation of needles for the syringe handles BD Nano. Innovation as the producer claims, reduces risk of the wrong introduction of medicinal solutions and allows to make injections painless.

According to BD, needles of the company are specially developed so that to provide the reliable depth of hypodermic introduction of medicine. Thanks to a conic basis and the distributed pressure, the new haze for the syringe handles reduces the risk of the wrong introduction of medicine arising at inadvertent change of force which the user applies to the syringe. By estimates of developers, the new design promoted decrease in settlement risk of intramuscular introduction to 8 times.

Besides, BD Nano needles with Extra Thin Wall technology improve passing of insulin through a needle, injecting more convenient, including for people with decrease in muscular force. Thus, all patients are capable to make an injection one hand on all sections: hands, hips, stomach and buttocks. By words digging, needles for the syringe handles BD Nano are the first and only needles for handles with the patented five-conical design. More flat and thin tip of a needle with a smaller force gets into skin that in clinical conditions reduces pain at an injection, reported in the press release.

The company also told about ergonomic design the syringe handle – according to representatives of BD, it facilitates use of the device and provides more convenient injection.

The vice president of the company for the medical questions BD doctor Stanislav Glezer noted that new needles of BD not only provide additional clinical benefits, but also help to increase commitment of patients of therapy, allowing to make insulin injections more comfortable.[1]
