2020: Start of the platform

In the middle of June, 2020 BMW announced the system of electronic contracts which is called Digital Sales Platform introduction. The car maker independently developed this platform and began to implement it from the Korean division.

A new system completely will replace traditional contract services and will begin to work in all seven dealer centers and 52 motor shows for all South Korea since July 1. It is the first foreign producer which offered the Korean car dealers an opportunity of the conclusion of smart contracts.

Completely passed BMW to electronic document management at car sale

The platform of digital sales will replace with electronic forms all documents necessary for purchase of the car, including registration for test drive. The platform will also allow to manage all process of signing of the contracts and to store documents on mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablet PCs. Also said BMW Korea that a new system will solve such problems as leak of personal information, disagreements under the terms of the contract and missing documents.

Sales of BMW in South Korea grew by 46% up to 21,361 cars from January to May, 2020 in comparison with 2019, the given Associations of automobile importers and distributors of Korea demonstrate. It is connected with the expressed growth in sales of luxury cars even during a pandemic. This income even covers losses from a sharp slowdown of sales of cars of the middle class which potential buyers in the conditions of crisis are not able to afford such large investments.

Before BMW also started own digital platform for retail in India. This platform which received the name BMW Contactless Experience allows to buy new and used cars and also to order services, without leaving the house. After creation of an account the client can select model, the version and different options for the car which he would like to purchase and also the closest dealer.^[1]
