2020: SmartLink 2.0

The company Huawei announced on November 30, 2020 that the Beijing branch of the company - China Unicom - Beijing Unicom is updating private SmartLink lines to version 2.0.

According to the company, in November 2018, the Beijing Unicom branch of China (Beijing Unicom) launched private SmartLink lines, which are a product with an improved OTN (PeOTN) packet optical transport network and support for iMaster NCE. This product is a differentiated private line service and is offered to users throughout China.

Over the past two years, more than 6,500 private SmartLink services (40-fold growth) have been provided in a number of industries, such as finance, the Internet, public services and research. The monthly use of the self-service portal by all users has increased 61 times in two years. In September 2020, Beijing Unicom processed 352 online requests for increased speed, which is more than 100 times higher than two years ago. As a key telecommunications partner for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Beijing Unicom will provide private lines and cloud services to the Olympic Games organizing committee.
