MOSES - the software complex, represents the software of the analysis and modeling of difficult projects of transportation and installation of offshore facilities, including descent of load-carrying structures and assembly of upper buildings by an overlap fault method.

The software solution MOSES the fixed engineering facility at design of offshore facilities, reduces project risks and increases safety of the constructions and projects thanks to existence of feature set allowing to estimate stability, a trim and efforts from anchor fastenings.


On October 3, 2013 the Bentley Systems company announced acquisition of the software of MOSES at company Ultramarine, Inc.

Advantages

Emergence of a new product in a solution portfolio of Bentley strengthened the leading positions of the company in the high-growth industry of sea power after acquisition in March, 2011 of the SACS system, the leading software for structured design of fixed offshore facilities. Integration of MOSES and SACS gives unprecedented opportunities for development of offshore facilities, in particular for the analysis and design of floating oil-field platforms (FPSO).

Main module MOSES

Powerful language of commands

  • Powerful language of commands allows the user to create macroes and to use possibilities of modeling. The MOSES tool kit completely provides the sea engineer. He offers flexibility in creation of new models, their documentation, assessment of their justification - all in one program.
  • Repetition parameters - data units can be entered automatically, but not manually.
  • Conditions of execution are procedures which are performed only at change of data.
  • Determinations of variables - specific data can be defined as variables which then can be connected to other models or be used in the subsequent transactions.
  • Universal graphic opportunities allow the user to build diagrams of X-Y результатов and a 3D model online.
  • Postprocessing of results can be configured by the user using macroes, in the package or interactive modes.
  • Data in SI, the English or metric units can be used and they imperceptibly pass from one system into another.
  • Possibilities of the database allow to make restart at any time

Modeling

  • Morrison's equation can be used at connection of plates and pipes with the body, for structure formation or simulation of a semisubmersible or independent vsplyv
  • The Generation of Structure model is represented as one or more body and a set of the tubular and/or lamellar elements collected in the uniform body. Options of formation and interactive graphics allow modeling of unusual forms, a polupgruzheniye and strengths of a support of the platform.
  • Automatic generation of hydrostatic, hydrodynamic and lamellar grids. The program specifies rough a grid and calculates intersection, consolidation and the difference of the certain polygons used for generation of a grid.
  • The extensive library of courts is included in the package.


Hydrostatics

  • Automatic calculation of ballast - calculates the ballast necessary for balance maintenance, taking into account a vessel configuration (draft, a trim, a roll) and loadings. Tanks can be also filled with ballast in an interactive mode, automatically adjusting the weight of a system and inertia.
  • The minimum shifts of ballast necessary for receiving a new configuration of the reservoir are calculated.
  • The curvature of forms can be set for a set of drawings and correction of corners, movements, the area of a waterline, the place of the center of buoyancy and the basis, cross and longitudinal KM, loading of change of draft and the moment of change of a trim join.
  • Complete and abnormal stability with curves of the recovering shoulder can be received for a number of values of draft and a trim. Results include the adjusting force heeling the wind force, a ratio of the area and minimum height of the lower points of flooding.
  • Easy calculation of equilibrium point. MOSES calculates balance provision taking into account loading and filling of ballast.
  • The longitudinal durability showing bending moments and deflections of the reservoirs loaded by ballast is calculated.
  • Calculations of load of a covering are made according to the calculations received above.
