2021: Samokat enters the American market under the Bike brand

In early June 2021, the Samokat express product delivery service announced its entry into the American market. There, the company will operate under the Bike brand, first the service will work in New York.

The co-founder and co-owner of the service Vyacheslav Bocharov told Vedomosti about the launch of Samokat in the United States a few months later. He did not go into detail and only noted that the main principle of work will remain the delivery of goods in 15 minutes.

A representative of Samokat told Forbes that a team from Russia will develop and support the service. He clarified that we are talking about a new business, and not about transferring Samokat to the United States.

Vyacheslav Bocharov said that by the beginning of June 2021, Samokat is operating in 18 cities of Russia and continues to open 80 darkstores per month. The company is growing rapidly and is confident in its ability to do "even more." The service in the United States will have a new name, but it will retain an important one: the company's desire to free people from the routine and technology of real-time retail, he added.[1]
