2023: Platform Exit
On December 5, 2023, Rockley Photonics announced the availability of the Bioptx platform, designed to quickly create wearable medical devices with the ability to collect a wide range of indicators about the state of the user's body. In addition, the Bioptx Biosensing Band bracelet for continuous non-invasive health monitoring is presented.
The announced solution combines the capabilities of short-wave infrared (SWIR) laser spectroscopy and photopletismography (PPG) based on LEDs. As a result, it becomes possible to design compact wearable gadgets that track a variety of parameters and biomarkers. These are, in particular, body hydration, body temperature, heart rate and heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen saturation, etc.
The Bioptx platform also includes Rockley Developer APIs designed to develop devices aimed at monitoring vital physiological parameters in real time. The information collected will help patients and health care providers make better decisions. The system allows you to track potentially dangerous changes in the vital signs of the body and take the necessary measures, for example, promptly prescribe treatment.
The Bioptx Biosensing Band, in turn, is equipped with an infrared sensor, a photoplethysmography module and a three-axis accelerometer. Via Bluetooth LE communication, the device can connect to smartphones running Android and iOS. Power is provided by a 550 mA·ch battery, which will last for two to three days of normal use. Dimensions are 45.5 × 41.5 × 15 mm, weight - less than 50 g. Protection against moisture and dust is provided according to the IP67 standard.[1]
