2018: Start first-ever a blockchain - recording systems of newborns
At the end of February, 2019 it became known of work first-ever a blockchain system for registration of newborns. It was started in Tanzania in the middle of the 2018th, however information on it got to the press only eight months later.
The first child registered in a blockchain system was born on July 13, 2018. On July 19 there two more got.
Within the project the special digital certificate on the basis of which she can receive vitamins is issued to each expectant mother (for example, folic acid). Besides, in a system process of conducting pregnancy up to childbirth is monitored.
The new project is directed to quality improvement of medical care to mothers and babies and also to decrease in number of cases of death rate which remains high in Tanzania (556 death are the share of 100 thousand newborns).
At a medical system in the country there are a lot of problems, especially when it is about care of pregnant women and newborns. Tanzania strongly depends on humanitarian aid and charitable organizations, but donations often do not reach those who really need it.
According to authors of an initiative, the solution blockchain reduces a fraud risk, and the electronic document allows suppliers of humanitarian aid to check information on the personality, including its photo before providing the help.
The application allows charitable organizations and individuals precisely the nobility what it is spent their donations for and also to trace history of the deposits and to obtain information on the waged charitable campaigns.[1]
This project was implemented by the AID company which is based in Dublin : Tech which uses a blockchain for distribution of international aid in refugee camps. The technology allows to digitize completely assistance process, including social security, money transfers and donations.
