2020: End of support

On March 24, 2020 Allot company, the solution provider on network analytics and the solutions "security as service" for service providers and the organizations worldwide, announced that Broadcom selected him as the recommended supplier for transition from PacketShaper product line to the service gateway Allot Secure Service Gateway (SSG). 2013: Full control over web applications, group and user corporate politicians

The Blue Coat company, the decision maker for security of Internet communications, in January, 2013 announced an exit of upgraded version of software for the PacketShaper device. PacketShaper will allow users to use in all width possibilities of the web, cloud and mixed applications in corporate network, providing at the same time high quality of service and necessary performance. The updated functions of a system allow to receive full control over web applications and transactions and also group and user corporate politicians.

Web and cloud applicaions find the increasing application in life of the enterprises, but specialists of IT cannot still trace and control them plainly. Very often the situation when these applications I begin to consume the lion share of a corporate communication channel results and to influence performance of program systems, crucial for business.

New expansions of functionality PacketShaper include:

• Possibility of detailed viewing applications and transactions. PacketShaper can classify web and mobile applications, applications based on mobile browsers now and also their transactions, allowing to receive the detailed analysis of consumption of traffic of the enterprise.
• Control at the level of groups and users. A system allows to set expanded politicians at the level of groups and certain users now, providing thereby the qualified control of rendering services in ensuring access to web and cloud applicaions.
• Possibility of the aggregated viewing activity of the user. New features allow to receive the integrated overview of all activity of users, taking into account all devices which they use for access to network that allows IT specialists to control quality of service more precisely.

Now PacketShaper allows IT division:

• It is better to understand how users, applications and their transactions use bandwidth.
• Prioritize and guarantee bandwidth for transactions of applications, critical for business, at the level of target groups or certain users.
• Identify and apply special rules on use of unauthorized applications.

The similar granulated control allows to maintain quality of service and to guarantee necessary performance level for the important systems, retaining at the same time full control of use of web and cloud applicaions. For example, new features can prioritize loading and unloading of files with Dropbox, limiting similar transactions with other on-line storages which are not standardized at the corporate level yet.

PacketShaper classifies all applications in network and is integrated with WebPulse service to provide a categorization in real time of tens of millions of websites and applications. At the same time all updates are performed at the level of a cloud service of WebPulse without the need for any upgrade of the device.
