2022: X-ray system with artificial intelligence is released, which quickly finds bone fractures

In early March 2022, Gleamer released an X-ray system with artificial intelligence BoneView, which automatically detects bone fractures in the upper and lower limbs, as well as in the chest and spine and traumatic injuries.

Gleamer officials said its computer diagnostic system is designed to help ambulance doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists and family doctors quickly evaluate X-rays. After detecting a fracture, the platform BoneView prioritizes and sends its findings to the radiologist for confirmation.

BoneView can change everything in how X-rays are read in March 2022! In a value-based U.S. healthcare system, service providers tell us they want to improve the radiographic diagnostic process, which is a huge part of their workload, and optimize patient management - said Gleamer co-founder and CEO Christian Allouche in a statement.

According to Allush, traumatic skeletal injuries are the main source of referrals to hospital emergency departments, and bone fractures account for about a third of all annual visits. Misinterpretation of fractures accounts for almost a quarter of diagnostic errors, especially on evening and night shifts. Allouche added that artificial intelligence (AI) care should increase the specificity of additional studies prescribed after radiography, avoid delays in care, and guide patients to the right therapeutic pathway.

During the study, which collected images from several US medical centers, as well as from specialists using a variety of X-ray machines, the artificial intelligence program BoneView showed that it can help reduce the incidence of unnoticed fractures by almost 30%. According to Gleamer, the BoneView system is available in the United States directly through the company's official website, as well as through other image analysis platforms from Fujifilm, Aidoc, Ferrum Health and Blackford Analysis.[1]
