2017: G610
On March 31, 2017 the Brocade company provided the G610 switch for the organization of networks of storage (SAN) using Fibre Channel technology of the sixth generation (Gen 6) with a performance of 32 Gbps.
The device is a part of a series of the Fibre Channel switches, as the 64-port G620[1].
Brocade G610 is the 24-port switch of initial level form factor 1U, it can be used for service of small SAN and network edges in large data centers. In an initial configuration the switch is delivered with 8 ports (the price in the USA to $8 thousand) and scaled by installation 8 or 16 of additional ports.
The switch supports the NVMe over Fibre Channel technology applied to connection of solid-state DWH to networks of storage instead of the SCSI protocol and is backward-compatible with the previous generations of the Fibre Channel of 4, 8 and 16 Gbps.
2016: G620
Brocade G620 is the switch of the Fibre Channel standard of the sixth generation of devices of Brocade company for storage area networks.
On March 1, 2016 the Brocade company announced release of the switch of the Fibre Channel Brocade G620 standard. The SAN switch is focused on support of performance and development of scalability for the growing amounts of data and workloads of crucial business applications.
Fibre Channel (FC) factories provide communication of the enterprise with its applications and data. Form a Fibre Channel a basis for the most reliable and unrolled network infrastructure of data storage used by the leading economies of the world. The sixth generation (Gen 6) – the next generation of Fibre Channel technology which will help the enterprises to provide necessary levels of capacity, reliability and scalability for hyper scalable virtualization, architecture of DPC and technologies of data storage.
"The Fibre Channel standard was and remains a crucial element of each wave of innovations in data storage area of DPC. – Brocade continues to develop Fibre Channel technology, helping clients to increase efficiency and profitability of the applications and infrastructure. Together with our partners within an ecosystem we offer the products Fibre Channel Gen 6 which will change idea of the possible level of availability, performance and scalability of corporate systems of data storage.
