2025: Product Announcement
On November 19, 2025, the company Broadcom announced switchboards Brocade X8 Directors and Brocade G820 for mission-critical workloads and enterprise applications based on. artificial intelligence A feature of the devices is support for quantum-stable 256-bit enciphering and algorithms, which post-quantum cryptography provides the highest level of security.
Broadcom notes that amid the rapid adoption of AI and the development of quantum computing, enterprises are facing increasingly complex cyber threats and sophisticated attacks. In such conditions, it is necessary to use encryption algorithms of a new class that are able to withstand intrusions using both classical and quantum computers. The new switches are said to be able to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure from future threats from quantum technologies.
The Brocade X8 Directors modular platform supports up to 384 128G ports. High throughput and ultra-low latency eliminate I/O bottlenecks to maximize performance for demanding workloads. The platform offers flexible deployment options and support for common protocols to help organizations optimize resources to meet changing storage and server hardware requirements.
The Brocade G820, in turn, is specifically designed to meet the growing needs of today's data centers. This 1U solution is equipped with 56 SFP + 128G ports. With its compact design, the switch maximizes rack space for scalability as needed[1]
