Brocade VDX 6940
Brocade VDX 6940 is the switch of the fixed configuration, it is developed especially for a scalable network architecture in the data processing centers (DPC).
On February 11, 2015 the Brocade company announced expansion of the Brocade VCS Fabric portfolio release of the Brocade VDX 6940 switch focused on use as a part of DPC.
The switch with horizontal scaling can be used as main (spine) or branched-off (leaf). In addition to fast putting into operation and ease of use, the new switch provides ideal balance between buffering and a delay that meets the requirements of modern DPCs where support of unpredictable profiles of traffic should be combined with the high performance of applications. Not blocked architecture guarantees switching on speed of the channel for packets of any sizes. The intra processor device with dynamic buffering provides the high speed and the minimum delay crucial for Hadoop environments.
The Brocade VDX 6940 switch is available in two models. The Brocade VDX 6940-36Q model is equipped with 36 ports 40GbE QSFP+. Using an adjustable cable each of ports 40 GbE can be broken into four ports for 10 GbE, thereby having received 14410 GbE-connectors.
Brocade VDX 6940, 2014
The Brocade VDX 6940-144S model in a form factor 2U has up to 96 ports 10 GbE and also 12 ports 40 GbE or 4 ports 100 GbE.
