Buffalo LinkStation PRO Quad Enclosure

The Buffalo company, producer of wireless network solutions and devices for data storage, announced in June, 2013 updating of the existing version of LinkStation PRO Quad. Now the popular network drive will become available both in a complete complete set, and in the form of the separate body.

Storage and data transmission

LinkStation PRO Quad from Buffalo company is the network device for a home network with a possibility of the general access. This solution is intended for storage of a multimedia content, photos, audio-and video files. Thanks to the DLNA and UPnP Certified media server the device allows to organize stream data transmission directly on the PC, Mac and other mediaplayers. LinkStation PRO Quad is also integrated with iTunes and can provide data access and sharing of musical files in network using this software. The TurboPC and TurboCopy applications for devices based on Windows OS promote increase in transmission rate and copying of files. In a complete complete set of LinkStation PRO Quad with a capacity from 4 to 16TB is available.

Users of LS PRO Quad will also have an opportunity to scale the device according to the requirements. Fast increase in capacity and capacity of the device now perhaps thanks to the updated solution LinkStation PRO Quad Enclosure. This device allows to install up to 3 additional hard drives.

Copying and security of files

LinkStation PRO Quad provides data backup using the Novastor NovaBACKUP software product and also the client of Time Machine Apple supports and allows to plan backup sessions.

It is also remarkable that thanks to the domain Active Directory data protection happens due to prohibition at the level of groups and users.

Buffalo LinkStation 400

The LS 400 series will replace the solutions LinkStation PRO. In comparison with the previous line its functionality will be expanded and new opportunities will appear, namely:

• data transfer rate 100+mbit / with;
• the updated user interface (UI) with intuitive navigation and also the Twonky Beam and BitTorrent applications for devices based on Android and iOS;
• the WebAccess application allowing to get data access from any point.

The LinkStation 400 series is equipped with the Marvell ARMADA ARMv7 processor accelerating data access. New devices also support stream transfer and control of data between NAS and smartphones. The Twonky Beam application helps to control media content and to execute stream data transmission in DMR devices, maintaining high quality of reproduction of multimedia. LinkStation 410, 420 and 421 devices enter the LS 400 series.

LinkStation 410 is storage with one disk, it is equipped with the latest processor at data transfer rate to 100 Mbps, and amount of memory reaches 4 Tbyte. Its key advantages – the intuitive interface, a possibility of remote access via smartphones or tablets, high data transfer rate. The device is compatible to the majority of OS, including Windows 8 and MAC of OS X 10.6 above. Thanks to compactness (45х205х128) the LS 410 system will suit even to small office. The recommended retail price – 14690 rub (4 Tbyte).

LinkStation 420 is the solution of the last generation completed with two disks. It is also equipped with the processor of the last generation at data transfer rate to 100 Mb / with, and the amount of memory of LS 420 is up to 8 TB. Also as well as the model LS 410, LS 420 it is compatible to the key Windows and MAC OS operating systems. Thanks to a possibility of direct access to settings and a possibility of fast transition to the most often used functions, administration of NAS will stop being routine work. The recommended retail price – 27,490 rub for 8 TB version.

LinkStation 421 is the body of the last generation for an independent complete set disks. The solution represents the smooth compact body (87x205x128mm) and it is submitted in stylish gray color. It is compatible to tough disks 2.5 and 3.5 up to 4 TB which are on sale separately. The input for USB 3.0 on the front panel of the body is additional benefit and does access more convenient. LS 421 allows the user to begin work with installation of one disk, and further if necessary, to increase the volume and performance of work. The recommended retail price – 11,790 rub.

LinkStation 420 and 421 support basic functions of NAS Buffalo: the RAID 1 and 0 mode, a possibility of data backup, remote access that allows to ensure the greatest reliability and safety of information.

Buffalo LinkStation 420

Buffalo Technology announced in October, 2014 start of the network LinkStation 420 (LS420DS) video recorder. After network TeraStation video recorder 5200 it is the second series of the optimized products created especially for network cameras Axis. The LinkStation 420 video recorder with the Axis network cameras provides full-fledged management of IP video surveillance and does this device by the ideal solution for small and home offices, the companies with a set of branches and also for home use at exacting users.

LS420DS proposes the ready-made complete solution on video surveillance of the professional grade for small home offices with fast setup of the camera Axis and NAS device for free system deployment of network video surveillance less than in 20 minutes. The software of AXIS Camera Companion establishes connection with NAS, automatically configuring users and cameras on connection to NAS. Thus at setup it is not necessary to be connected to the NAS device or the camera that in only several minutes to receive completely functioning network of video surveillance.

2014: Buffalo LinkStation 200

On March 20, 2014 the Buffalo company announced expansion of a consumer line of NAS by means of the LinkStation 200 series.

Linkstation 210

Description

In products of this series security and ease of use are combined with enhanced capabilities of data storage and the first in ^[1] the user interface optimized for mobile devices. The new interface helps to get an information access in any place, at any time and from any smartphone or the tablet.

Inexpensive LS210 (one section) and LS220 (two sections) provide all necessary for simple and secure access, work with data, both for advanced users of NAS, and for beginning users.

A system is previously customized and ready to use in a few minutes. The user interface and is intuitive and will help to complete a device configuration - it can be done using the smartphone.

After setup users get full access to the data in free personal "cloud", using the smartphone, the tablet or the web browser, at the same time safety of remote access to the device is guaranteed. Free applications are available to mobile devices on iOS, Android and Windows.

Components

LinkStation 210 is completely completed device, with a disk capacity of 2, 3 or 4 TB.

LinkStation 220 is offered as the diskless body or fully completed with a capacity of 2, 4, 6 and 8 TB.

Both drives of a series provide reading speed to 100 Mbps - transfer about one thousand photos less than in a minute. Users can use devices for watching 4 movies in high resolution at the same time that does devices ideal for home use. In design of the device there is no fan and the LinkStation 200 series works almost silently. Devices support the UPnP and DLNA standards on the basis of Twonky - it allows to manage any multimedia contents of LinkStation or intelligent devices, to transfer content to the corresponding ^[2].

The LinkStation 200 series is compatible to the PC and Mac, supports Time Machine for ensuring planned reserve multi-user copying of data and also is equipped with the advanced solution NovaBACKUP for backup of the PC (5 licenses in a set).
