2023: Product Announcement
Engineers of the Center for Competence of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Novosibirsk have developed a supercompact drone "Bumblebee," which can be used for military purposes. On February 7, 2023, the head of the center Denis Kotin told reporters about this.
The prototype was the British Black Hawk drone, which also belongs to the type of micro-UAV and has a special purpose. Our task in this segment was to compete and try to approach the well-known analogue in terms of technical characteristics and dimensions... Its field of application is to look where it is physically difficult for a person. In fact, this is a continuation of the eyes of a person, - said Kotin (quoted by RIA Novosti). |
He noted that the scope of its application is all kinds of special services and special forces that are in the most dangerous conditions, and the main potential customer and consumer of the micro-pilot is the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to Kotin, the drone weighs only 85 grams, it is capable of speeds up to 25 km/h. The range of flight without recharging reaches 2 km. The UAV will be able to transmit information using two video cameras mounted on the case. The battery charge lasts for 20 minutes of flight, the set includes three batteries, as well as a charging unit.
It is noted that engineers NGTU are developing the device mainly from domestic components. The device has a domestic fuselage software for adjusting flight modes and an electric engine, also developed in NSTU. It is similar in size to Chinese engines for UAVs, but with more advanced characteristics, the developers say.
In the nearest (by February 7, 2023) plans of the Center for Competence of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles - the creation of a prototype. It will be ready by June 2023.[1]
