2024: Product Release
In May 2024, Fplus introduced the first Russian four-socket server. He entered the Buran line of equipment.
Each of the four Intel Xeon Scalable processors installed on the server can carry up to 60 physical cores, and their total number can be a record 240 cores. It is noted that the system uses fourth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable chips, which are 50% more productive than previous models. The device can install up to 16 TB of RAM (64 DIMM slots are provided) and up to 28 drives with SAS, SATA or NVMe interfaces. In addition, Buran received 8 PCIe expansion slots with support for graphics accelerators.
According to the developers, four-cycle execution allows you to increase the performance of the device gradually and reduce the amount of initial investment. The equipment can be built into the existing IT infrastructure.
According to Fplus, the Buran server can be used in tasks related to working with big data, hosting, creating digital twins, high-performance computing, training artificial intelligence and neural networks. Its developers include organizations from the field of fintech, telecom, transport and logistics, industry and the oil and gas industry as potential users of the product.
Fplus Chief Executive Officer Mikhail Volkov estimated the volume of the Russian four-socket server market at 6-8 thousand devices. According to him, previously only foreign vendors were present on the market, and almost all volumes were closed by parallel imports.
Now there is a domestic alternative, guarantees and service. Several customers from the financial industry showed interest in the new product and took it into the test. During the year, we plan to occupy up to 30% of the four-socket systems market, Volkov said.[1] |
