2025: Product Announcement

At the end of September 2025, Seattle Ultrasonics announced the start of sales of the world's first ultrasonic knife for cooks. The C-200 product is said to halve the effort applied when cutting various products.

The design of the novelty does not use vibration motors or magnets to generate ultrasonic vibrations. Instead, special piezoelectric ceramic crystals are used. The blade vibrates at a frequency of more than 40 thousand times per second, which, according to Seattle Ultrasonics, provides a decrease in friction, and therefore helps to reduce effort during operation. Moreover, the vibrations themselves are not visible, not heard or felt. To activate the ultrasonic mode, just press a special button at the bottom of the handle. You can use C-200 as a regular knife - without vibration.

The knife is made of Japanese AUS-10 steel, which is characterized by high wear resistance, strength and good anti-corrosion properties. The blade can be sharpened in any conventional manner. The product is suitable for both right-handers and left-handers. It is emphasized that the novelty contributes to improving safety when actively cutting products.

An ultrasonic knife in itself is no more dangerous than any other sharp kitchen knife. At the same time, C-200 can make cutting safer, as you put in less effort and retain more control than when working with a blunt knife, says Seattle Ultrasonics.

Power is provided by a 1100 mA·ch lithium-ion battery. Charging can be carried out via a USB Type-C port or using a wireless station made of an array of wood. The cost of an ultrasonic knife is about $400. In a set with a charging station, the product is offered at a price of $500.[1]
