The CARTO 3 system represents the visualization technology using an electromagnetic method for creation of interactive 3D maps of warm structures of the patient. A system is developed for assistance to electrophysiologists in "navigation" on heart by generation of accurate three-dimensional maps, identification of exact arrangement and orientation of a catheter during the procedures of kateterny ablation at the patients suffering from violations of a warm rhythm (arrhythmia).

During kateterny ablation the doctor through a small opening in a groin enters a therapeutic catheter into a blood vessel and moves it to heart. On reaching the left upper camera (atrium) through a catheter to a warm wall the radio-frequency energy creating the educations blocking the wrong electric impulses which are the reason of violations of a warm rhythm begins to arrive.

2017: Release of the module CARTO VISITAG with the index of ablation

On March 22, 2017 the Biosense Webster company, division of Johnson & Johnson Medical NV/SA - announced release of the module CARTO VISITAG with the index of ablation. Development represents the new technology providing visual indication by means of integration of parameters of power, contact effort and time for the subsequent display in the advanced CARTO 3 system. This index was developed for the purpose of simplification and standardization of processes of ablation of patients with the paroksizmalny fibrillation of auricles (PFA) and providing support to electrophysiologists in use of CARTO SMARTTOUCH technology for reproduction of own successful strategy of the ablation allowing to perform the isolation of a pulmonary vein (IPV).

Fibrillation of auricles meets at 2% of all population of the planet. This pathology fivefold increases risk of a stroke at patients that does predserdny flicker of one of the most considerable problems of health care in the world. It is predicted that by 2030 the number of patients with fibrillation of auricles in Europe will make about 14-17 million people, and growth of number of new cases of pathology will increase to level 120,000 - 215,000 in a year.

At kateterny ablation of predserdny flicker formation of leziya depends on a set of factors, including stability of a catheter, power, contact effort and time of influence, and doctors control all these parameters at the same time throughout all procedure. The module CARTO VISITAG with the index of ablation integrates indicators of power, contact effort and time in one value (the weighed formula) indicating stability of a catheter.

"In comparison with my former strategy of ablation, thanks to the new module CARTO VISITAG I managed to reduce time of holding procedures for 26%, and duration of radio-frequency ablation by 36% at treatment of PFP. Moreover, at my experience with the index of ablation in combination with the optimized workflow, the treatment performance indicator at repeated inspection in 1 year (release from the set diagnosis "arrhythmia" for one procedure) raised up to 92%, - MD, the prof. M. M. Duytschaever from cardiological department of Az Sint-Jan hospital in the Belgian Bruges shared. - I am absolutely sure that information provided to me by the index of ablation and will increase further firmness of results both in a sharp phase, and in the long term, liquidating a gap with method of resistant ILV".

Perfectly, this new software integrated into the module CARTO VISITAG of the CARTO 3 Version 4 system is followed by standard workflow for ILV. The index of ablation helps medical specialists to reproduce their successful strategy of ablation, continuing to control standard final indicators of the procedure at the same time.
