2017: Bringing Golas Technology to Market

On February 14, 2017, CST announced the launch of GOLAS technology. The technology is focused on use in logistics and warehousing systems.

Using GOLAS, warehouse employees can avoid the need to view information in the tablet or paper lists, they will receive voice instructions from GOLAS in dialogue mode. The system operates in Russian, English and Kazakh, at the request of the customer can "learn" Tajik or Uzbek.

The system works according to the Voice Picking principle (Eng. "Voice picking") - the list for forming an order system dictates to the warehouse employee in the earphone. This is convenient when working on a loader or in a warehouse with a large product that must be held with two hands. The employee does not need to press the buttons and use the touch screen, so when working in cold rooms, you do not have to remove the protective equipment.

This solution, depending on the industry and processes, pays off in 12-18 months. Pickers in the warehouse work faster (increasing productivity to 35%), they are less likely to make mistakes: until a person reports that he has put the desired product in the right place, the system will not give him the next task (the number of errors is reduced by two to three times). It is very easy to work with GOLAS, an employee can be trained in a day or two, so even in conditions of large staff turnover in warehouses, this will not be any problem.

GOLAS mobile terminal is designed for daily intensive use. It is adapted to work in low temperatures (outdoors, in refrigerators, freezers), is equipped with powerful power elements and does not require a constant wireless connection to the server.

The technology is suitable for optimizing work in warehouse logistics, retail chains, online stores, food production, etc.

How GOLAS works:

  • The warehouse manager forms the composition of the order and loads it into the accounting system (WMS or ERP). In it, the order is transferred to step-by-step instructions - for example, in which section, on which shelf, on which shelf how many units of goods you need to take.
  • the instruction is sent to the mobile voice terminal attached to the belt at the picker.
  • the synthesized voice "by steps" gives commands to the employee: for example, take 30 units of product A on the second shelf of the A1 rack.
  • the picker executes the command and reports it to the microphone
  • GOLAS gives him the next step of the instruction.

The process is repeated until the order is fully completed. The employee may ask the system to repeat the information if he has not heard or forgotten the instruction. The level of language proficiency and diction defects do not affect recognition - GOLAS recognizes speech even in a noisy room.

The voice module from the CST synthesizes speech with one of nine standard voices in Russian, English or Kazakh. Given the personnel specifics of Russian warehouses, the developers, on request, offer an installation for the synthesis and recognition of the Uzbek and Tajik languages.
