2016
CST Studio Suite 2017
On November 2, 2016 the Computer Simulation Technology company submitted the version of the CST Studio Suite 2017 software package.
In this version there will be a module Filter Designer 3D (FD3D) intended for synthesis of resonator filters. By the parameters (a working band, a filter order, provision of zero communication) set by the user this module issues a set of possible topology of placement of resonators. For the topology selected by the user the module calculates a matrix of communication of the filter including for dipleksorny devices. Further, using unique technology of shift of nodes of tetragonal splitting the frequency calculator together with optimization by method of confidential areas, the module executes a complete design cycle of multiresonator filters with a record accuracy. It is necessary to add that the tool supports loading of results of measurement of filter responses and receiving a communication matrix for it that considerably simplifies process of setup of the manufactured device.
The functionality of the asymptotic calculator will extend a new possibility of calculation of communication between the antennas placed on electrically large objects. The description of antennas on the platform is executed by means of sources of a near or distant field then the calculator coupling coefficients between them are calculated. Such solution allows to combine data of different computing modules when carrying out the analysis at the level of a system. Use of monitors of a near field simplifies process of search of mechanisms of communication between antennas, and the task of the analysis of an interference defines potential abuses of regulations of EMS.
A number of changes will be mentioned by the master of the antenna arrays Array Wizard. At the current stage of development the tool allows to synthesize and model large antenna arrays: starting with the analysis of one element and finishing with creation of models of the complete systems. In version 2017 in the master the feature for modeling of non-periodic and any 3D grids with further creation of final models will be added. The analysis of especially large tasks is expedited and precisely using a modern hardware platform and also a powerful method of computational modeling in a time domain using conformal grid splitting.
A number of changes will affect also other calculators, for example, will become possible to model thermal effects taking into account air convection.
The release of the version of CST Studio Suite 2017 is planned in the first quarter 2017.
CST Studio Suite 2016
Changes affected all stages of numerical solving of tasks of electrodynamics: since implementation of new instruments of design, algorithms of grid splitting, finishing with processing of the received results and their further use on the following, more difficult levels of the project.
The product CST STUDIO SUITE is used by engineers and developers for the solution of an enormous range of problems of modeling and optimization of the electromagnetic systems. Computing modules, closely connected with each other, cover the broad range of frequencies and the sizes of the studied model that together with specialized technologies of modeling allows to analyze as processes in printed circuit boards and cable systems, and in accelerating modules.
In this version for the calculator in a time domain the models of materials allowing to describe properties of difficult coverings using results of measurements are implemented. Sampling elements with curvilinear edges are available to the integral calculator now that considerably will increase the accuracy of grid splitting such objects as paraboloids. In addition, there was a searching tool of characteristic fashions of antennas which allows to study in more detail mechanisms of radiation of the antenna and to define the suitable location of a feeder. The asymptotic calculator used in case of the analysis over large tasks in the new version supports graphic acceleration.
Significant changes affected technologies of tetragonal grid splitting. First, in the course of variation of parameters at which the object geometry remains, for example, at change of phase shift between boundary conditions, a wave incidence angle, etc. the grid is not rebuilt that reduces modeling time. Secondly, the new technology of shift of nodes of tetragonal splitting at which in the course of small changes of parameters nodes of grid splitting remain tied to points of the broken object is added. The new algorithm of adaptation of tetragonal splitting the frequency calculator which became more active is implemented to hurt metal edges and narrow gaps between them and gives the best convergence of the received results.
The computing modules CST EM STUDIO intended for the analysis of low-frequency fields consider turn of a rotor now and support technology of the sliding grid which does not require resplitting nodes at rotation of a rotor. In version 2016 the possibility of the analysis of not concentric objects of rotation and also linear movement which finds for itself application in modern electrical machines is implemented.
In the field of multiphysical modeling there was a replenishment in the form of the new calculator of the analysis of heat transport which considers transfer of heat between a solid body and the fluid environment that considerably expands a range of the modelled processes of cooling and accounting of turbulent and laminar flows of the cooler.
In addition to all aforesaid it is also necessary to note:
- new tracking the calculator on tetragonal elements of splitting in CST PARTICLE STUDIO;
- the impedance calculator is added to CST CABLE STUDIO;
- new approach to transient analysis with support of combination of results between circuit and the 3D level of the description;
- the library of signals defining rules of verification of topology in CST PCB STUDIO.
2015
CST Studio Suite Student Edition
CST Studio Suite Student Edition is the special free edition of a popular packet designed to provide clearer understanding of physical processes and bases of the electromagnetic theory by future engineers. This version of a product includes multifunction calculators of high-frequency processes in temporary and frequency areas and also modules on work with static and thermal tasks. Moreover, the packet contains a set of the interactive examples describing classical tasks from textbooks with possible solutions by computational modeling.
The product CST STUDIO SUITE Student Edition has a number of restrictions for prevention of commercial use (there are restrictions for number of nodes of grid splitting, there are no possibilities of optimization and CAD import), but at the same time includes completely intuitive interface of design, library of materials and possibilities of visualization of the received results.
2014
CST Studio Suite 2015
On October 24, 2014 the Computer Simulation Technology (CST) company submitted the overview of new opportunities of the product in the field of 3D electromagnetic design – CST Studio Suite 2015.

The release of the application is planned for the end of the first quarter 2015. Changes affected all stages of numerical solving of tasks of electrodynamics:
- implementation of new instruments of design,
- algorithms of grid splitting,
- processing of the received results and their further use at more difficult levels of the project.

In CST Studio Suite 2015 new methods of automatic communication of different computing modules are developed that considerably expands possibilities of classical modeling of an electromagnetic field.
As a part of tool kit of design and synthesis in the version of 2015 (and the last updates of version 2014) the new 2D designer of 2D Filter Designer filters implemented together with Nuhertz Technologies company acts. The product contains an extensive base of the filters executed at the level of the concentrated and distributed elements. The designer needs to specify project requirements, in particular, both a frequency response, and physical restraints, in the form of the maximum size of the filter and parameters of a substrate then Filter Designer 2D will automatically construct ready model.
Developers made changes to the field of design of antenna systems. The new master of the implemented phased arrays Phased Array Wizard will execute automatic creation of a complete matrix of elements together with necessary distribution of exciting signals, proceeding from the parameters received on one radiator at the level of "unit cell". Elements can be excluded or set in a passive operation mode by way of simple setup of the card of the device. In the course of computational modeling of the constructed grid correct parameters of edge and angular radiators are considered. At the same time the developer can set in the project additional parts of a system, for example, of a chain of calibration and powering and also to add geometrical elements, such as fixing brackets or radiotransparent body.
The received 3D model can be used for receiving sources of a field in near/far field region with the direction of the main lobe at different scan angles and carrying out the further analysis, for example, on large-size platforms. In addition to the new master of Phased Array Wizard the EPR cards — pictures of amplitude-phase distribution of EPR depending on the frequency and scan angle will be added to CST STUDIO SUITE 2015. Moreover in the latest version support of the radio absorbing materials with the parameters dependent on the exciting frequency and an incidence angle will be implemented.
CST calculators will become more powerful and more universal. For example, the changes implemented in the calculator in frequency domain will allow to model much more simply superlarge objects and multiport models, such as multicontact connectors or antenna arrays of high density. Implementation of the instrument of communication between frequency and asymptotic calculators through a field source in near field region will perform the idea of combination of the different 3D methods of electromagnetic design.

In a packet of CST STUDIO SUITE the tool kit for modeling of low-frequency and high-frequency tasks, the analysis of dynamics of the charged particles in electromagnetic fields and carrying out multiphysical researches integrated within the single user interface is built.
Implementation of new techniques of creation of grid splitting became the main objective when developing version 2014: mainly changes were aimed at creation of algorithms, more effective, steady and simple for the user. As a result new generators of hexagonal and tetrahedral grids use a smaller number of elements of splitting and better cope with sampling of complex three-dimensional structures.
Improvements affected modeling of complex systems. The new master of compound projects (SAM, System Assembly and Modeling) performs tuning of parameters of multiphysical modeling and sources of an electromagnetic field in the automatic mode. The SAM technology allows to break big structure into small objects, to promodelirovat them the most suitable calculator, and then to integrate data retrieveds and to receive total characteristics of all device.
The significant progress of CST STUDIO SUITE is made regarding processing of the projects imported from CAD and EDA systems. The mechanism of control of versions of the imported objects allowing to monitor the changes made by developers in the initial project in CAD and an EDA system and to apply to them early the made CST settings of the project is entered.

CST Studio Suite 2013
The CST company - the supplier of software solutions for processing 3D - electrodynamics tasks announced on May 21, 2013 an official release of the new version of the flagship product of CST STUDIO SUITE 2013.
Components
The product contains the broad tool kit for low-frequency and high-frequency modeling allowing to solve problems of the analysis of parasitic processes in cables and printed circuit boards, to investigate dynamics of the charged particles, to execute exact assessment of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), the analysis of integrity of signals, optimization and setup of antenna systems, filters and other very high frequencies devices.
Interface
The most notable change in the version of 2013 is the new user interface with dynamically updated toolbars. It is focused on support of developer during all workflow and providing necessary instruments of creation of structures, modeling, post-processing. The interface is complemented with the new opportunities in the form of the master of a configuration and the interactive assistant simplifying process of preparation and setup of a configuration of the new project.
Calculations
Changes affected the field of computing technologies. In cooperation with Intel company computing algorithms are optimized for use of the maximum opportunities of processors of the last generation. In addition the product CST STUDIO SUITE is complemented with new means of post-data processing in the form of cylindrical scanning of fields in far field region and constructions sinogramm. Thereby the extending set of the used tools allows to execute a set of different detail designs more simply.
