2019: XA55, XA50 и XA4

On April 2, 2019 the Canon company announced replenishment of a professional lineup of XA three video cameras of standard 4K UHD — XA55, XA50 and XA40. Models are designed to meet the growing demand for content in permission 4K UHD. XA55/XA50 model represents the video camera of standard 4K UHD with the 1-inch sensor, technology of autofocusing Dual Pixel CMOS AF and a 15-fold optical zoom, at this XA55 differs in existence of connector 3G-SDI. XA40 is an ultracompact video camera of standard 4K UHD with the format sensor 1/2.3 inches and a 20-fold optical zoom.

According to the company, all three models are suitable for creation of video 4K UHD and HD, offering a number of professional functions and the improved possibilities of shooting in the Full HD format due to processing of HD data with excess sampling.

The portable and compact model of XA55/XA50 will draw attention of users of normal video cameras to the XA family. It is the first model in a series equipped with the 1-inch CMOS sensor with technology of fast and reliable autofocusing Dual Pixel CMOS AF. The video camera is also equipped with an original 4K-lens of Canon with a 15-fold optical zoom and superlow-dispersive (Super UD) elements. The wide angle lens with a range of focal distances of 25.5-382.5 mm will help to create the expressive personnel with great effect a side. The processor of image processing DIGIC DV6 and mechanisms of processing of HD data with excess sampling is responsible for enhanced capabilities of shooting in the Full HD format, and the powerful stabilization system on five axes prevents distortions even when shooting from hands.

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology guarantees fast and exact autofocusing approximately for 80% of the area of the image (in vertical direction and horizontals). The different modes of autofocusing — with face recognition, with a priority of persons or only on persons — and a touch control tracking allow to control even more precisely focusing, and function of hints Dual Pixel Focus Guide helps to execute manual focusing easier. This assistant allows to achieve exact focusing due to use of Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology with phase detecting.

XA55/XA50 model offers opportunities of shooting in different formats, in particular record of video XF-AVC and MP4 in the modes up to 4K UHD 25P on the memory cards SD and also the slowed-down and accelerated shooting with the maximum acceleration by 1200 times in permission 4K or Full HD. Thanks to existence of two slots relay and parallel record is available to the memory cards SD. The XA55/XA50 video camera economically spends an accumulator charge: you can conduct continuous shooting more than two hours in a row.

Possibilities of the camera include 4-channel record from linear PCM and two XLR connectors. Via interface 3G-SDI (only in XA55 model) it is possible to display a 10-bit signal in permission of Full HD color-keyed 4:2:2.

XA40 model weighing about 730 g (only the body). It is possible to remove in favourite style and with high quality, whether it be format 4K UHD or Full HD with excess sampling. 1/2.3 inches with the resolution of 4K UHD and DIGIC DV6 image processing processor will take care of it the format CMOS sensor. Record with a speed of 150 Mbps for the MP4 UHD format with a picture frequency 25P and 35/17 of Mbps for the Full HD format with a picture frequency 50P/25P is supported. In both permissions 4K and Full HD are available the modes of the slowed-down and accelerated shooting with the maximum acceleration.

Thanks to a 20-fold optical zoom and wide angle of the overview (from 29.3 mm) operators can realize the most different ideas. The powerful stabilization system of the image on five axes guarantees permanent image quality, and the sympathetic mechanism of the lens 3D of Real-Time provides a fast zoom and silent work.

The infrared mode opens a possibility of shooting at the minimum lighting or even in complete darkness. At last, in addition to other functions this specialized video camera is equipped with the convenient 3-inch touch LCD display in management. Two slots for the memory cards SD opening a possibility of reserve and relay record, support of 4-channel sound recording from linear PCM via the built-in stereomicrophone and two XLR connectors in a basic equipment are also provided.
