2018: Announcement

At the beginning of November, 2018 the American producer of iSense glucose meters and South Korean telecommunication operator SK Telecom announced the device for measurement of level of sugar in CareSens N IoT blood. Function of connection to Internet of Things thanks to what doctors and relatives can always be aware of health of the diabetic became its feature.

The device is connected to LTE Cat M1 IoT network which in South Korea earned in April, 2018. The network is available through the whole country and is optimized for devices which are used not often in comparison, for example, with smartphones and transfer not volume traffic.

Caresens N IoT glucose meter

CareSens N IoT represents the compact analyzer which measures glucose level in a small amount of capillary blood. Such device is vital for regular diagnostics and tracking of a current status of carbohydrate metabolism at the people having diabetes.

CareSens N IoT is connected to the Internet via the smartphone with which it is synchronized by means of Bluetooth and the built-in communication module. Thanks to it values of level of sugar to blood right after measurement can go to phones of attending physicians or family members that they could react to deterioration in health of the patient quickly.

By the beginning of November, 2018 CareSens N IoT is on sale at the price of 99 thousand wons (about $87). The subscription to operator services worth 1100 wons ($1) in a month is necessary for a full-fledged work of the device — transfer of medical information on telecommunication network —.

SK Telecom  notes that by 2018 the number of patients with diabetes in South Korea is about 5 million people. CareSens N IoT is always connected to the Internet therefore for glucose control rather just to measure it at the moment, added to the companies.[1]
