2016: Announcement
At the end of August, 2016 the Carestream company announced the beginning of deliveries of new family of the systems of digital radiography of DRX Core. They are held for use small hospitals, points of emergency aid, specialized clinics and service providers of mobile medical visualization.
The portfolio of DRX Core included the wireless scintillators using gadolinium and caesium allowing to receive images in high resolution without having lost a possibility of X-ray "see" fabrics through.
Detectors have the geometrical sizes of 35 x 43 cm and 43 x 43 cm that will allow to use them for obtaining digital x-ray images on any analog x-ray device without its modification.
New devices are compatible to the majority of the x-ray installations which are found in the market. It is enough to replace cartridges, but not to change all equipment of x-ray department.
In particular, the detectors DRX Core can be used in the Carestream DRX-Ascend System, DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kits and DRX-Motion Mobile X-ray System systems. In one system two detectors DRX Core can work at the same time. Medical institutions can integrate the detectors DRX Plus, DRX-1 and DRX Core that will allow to receive a combination from eight detectors working through Carestream Directview software for each system of visualization.
The x-ray digital detectors DRX Core are capable to reproduce images for print preview in only three seconds, and pictures in complete permission are displayed in 12 seconds. Detectors use the same battery that will allow to optimize transactions in the field of visualization and to accelerate an investment payback, the producer notes.
As of the end of August, 2016 new detectors are available on sale in the USA, Canada, the countries of Europe, Asia and Latin America. The DRX-Motion system is not on sale in North America yet.[1]
