The development was called Chameleon Coloring Technology. This material for smartphones is an electrically controlled prism technology. By controlling the position of the material, changes in light refraction can be achieved. This creates a wide range of iridescent colors. According to the developers, this technology allows you to change the color of the back surface of your smartphone with one touch. According to the description of the technology, the material presented is not a display and does not emit light - on the contrary, it reflects it from its surface. The technology of full spectral coloring with an electrically controlled prism, which uses a grid of submicron prismatic material that changes direction when an electric field is applied. By precisely controlling the direction of the prism, the material can scatter light at several different wavelengths, giving the appearance of a wide range of rainbow colors.

The built-in Chameleon ON allows you to either choose from 1.6 thousand different colors, or adjust their change automatically depending on the state of the battery, music or notifications. The material for the smartphone changes color in 0.03 seconds and has insignificant power consumption: 100 changes during the day require as much energy as watching 5 minutes of video. According to the manufacturer Tecno, the material is designed for 2 million changes.^[1]
