On September 12, 2017 — the developer of network solutions Ciena provided products which cover the resources necessary for creation of reference "autonomous network" for telecom operators. The reference "autonomous network" according to experts of the company should include three main areas: it should have big capacity, to be available always and from any devices, to give cloud platforms and opportunities for a desegregation of data.

In the telecom sphere there is a transition from the old network solutions based on multilayer structure of processing, storage and data transmission to the coherent networks capable to autonomous self-service.
