Industrial Network Director is technology for control of a factory area network.

On May 16, 2017 the Cisco company announced product output for control of a factory area network of Industrial Network Director.

A system is developed for operators at the plant, not only for employees of IT department. It provides full control of a factory area network, reduces time of setup and reduces risks of idle times. In a system the principle of automatic configuring is implemented. It is enough to install the managed switch — the necessary security levels, installation and operational parameters will also be set. Manual programming is not required^[1].
