Cisco Smart+Connected Communities, S+CC

Cisco announced on October 13, 2010 a series of the innovation products expanding basic functionality of the solution of this company for security and protection of public order. These products constructed on the open platform allow the city authorities to transform methods of protection of citizens, material values and crucial infrastructure. The solution developed within Cisco initiative of construction of the "smart" and connected communities (Smart+Connected Communities, S+CC), is directed to quality improvement of life due to creation of the safe living environment as bases of sustainable social, ecological and economic development.

To achieve these objectives, Cisco announced the following novvovvedeniye:

• The new simplified solution on management of video surveillance for educational institutions. It allows schools, colleges and the universities quicker and more effectively to react to incidents and to create a safe environment in which it is possible to gain quietly knowledge for pupils and to develop the skills necessary for successful work in future economy. The new solution has the intuitive user interface provides quick access to data archives for viewing the video images arriving from surveillance cameras and has functions of a geographical binding and video paging.
• Unified application for management of the city and the enterprises based on the software of Cisco Physical Security Operations Manager (the solution Cisco for management of physical security) supporting interaction between video surveillance systems, access controls and responses to incidents. This solution will help the city authorities, organizations and the enterprises to distinguish quickly incidents and also to correlate and prioritize key information to provide faster and effective interaction between services of emergency response. Software of Cisco Physical Security Operations Manager is a part of the solution Cisco for security and protection of public order (Cisco Safety & Security Solution) which, in turn, is considered one of basic elements of strategy of the "smart" and connected communities.
• The industry-first surveillance camera with technology of media networks. The camera can automatically be configured through network that considerably simplifies and accelerates its installation in urban and corporate environment. The Cisco Video Surveillance 4000 IP camera developed within broader strategy of Cisco on distribution of functionality of media networks on all end video systems completely maintains architecture of Cisco media networks in the field of video, sharply reducing the terms and efforts necessary for setup of the video cameras connected to the Cisco switches Ethernet. The media network automatically optimizes network video functions and also functions of devices and formats of access, considerably simplifying deployment of video surveillance systems.
• The solution Cisco for video analytics working on new IP cameras of high resolution Cisco 4500. This solution is well scaled and allows to analyze a situation and to make decisions on the basis of information obtained from a large number of the video cameras installed in the city or at the enterprise. The analytical solution Cisco is used by the software set on each video camera, creating innovative opportunities for scaling without installation of the selected centralized server analytical system.
• The new dome-shaped Cisco 2900 IP camera rotating in two measurements with function of image magnification for installation in premises and on the open area in the urban environment. This video camera supports the circular 360-degree overview, use technology of a compression H.264 and differs in very high performance, image quality and simplicity of installation.
• And, at last, Cisco announced new opportunities of coding of analog video according to H.264 standard on the multiservice platform of physical security and video surveillance of Cisco that it allows to connect quickly to a new solution the numerous analog video cameras installed in the cities. The new solution allows to connect up to 48 analog video cameras to the system installed in two standard cabinets. As a result the customer has an opportunity to pass gradually to IP and to protect the investments enclosed in the equipment of the previous generations.
